Academy 2009 Orlando Exams now available

For those participating in the American Academy of Optometry (AAO) Ellerbrock Continuing Education Program held November 11-14, 2009 in Orlando, Florida. The University of Houston College of Optometry (UHCO) has been contracted by the AAO to grade and process exams for the attendees wishing to earn Continuing Education with Examination Credit.

Professional Responsibility for Texas Optometrists Course
Did you know that Texas Optometrists are now required to complete a one-hour Professional Responsibility Course for license renewal? Stay on top of this new requirement, as well as, state and federal laws, by completing this course in one of three formats available:

• If you select the ON-LINE or CD-Rom option, please note:
• Certificates of Completion will be issued approximately 10 business days after your exam is received by the CE Office for grading. We anticipate a high volume of exam submissions at the end of the calendar year/license renewal cycle and recommend completing your exam by DECEMBER 1st. The UHCO Continuing Optometric Education Office is closed for the Semester Break from DECEMBER 19th through January 3rd. All exams MUST be submitted no later than DECEMBER 14th in order to receive your Certificate of Completion prior to the break.

LIVE CE
Texas Optometrists registering for ANY 16 hours of CE hosted by UHCO will benefit from receiving the Professional Responsibility Course at no additional cost (a $95 value). Simply select the 16 hours you wish to complete with UHCO from a variety of course offerings, sign-up, pay the associated registration fees and you will receive the Professional Responsibility Course as part of your program package. In order to receive this exclusive offer, the following rules apply:

• Register and pay the associated fees for 16 hours of CE hosted by UHCO. This offer is valid for ANY program (including the Optometric Glaucoma Specialist Course and the Demystifying Glaucoma Course). Programs co-hosted and/or co-sponsored by UHCO are not eligible for this offer.
• For in-state programs (with the exception of the Glaucoma Certification Course and the Demystifying Glaucoma Course), the Professional Responsibility Course will be part of the program agenda. These live sessions will not require an exam.
• For out-of-state programs, and the Glaucoma Certification Course and the Demystifying Glaucoma Course, you will receive the Professional Responsibility Course on CD-ROM. In order to receive credit for the Professional Responsibility Course, follow the instructions included in your CD-ROM packet and abide by program deadlines.
